Odysseia Ensemble
Love for chamber music. This passion, shared by some elders of the Royal Conservatorium of Brussels led them to join their forces. This led to the official birth of the Odysseia Ensemble in 2009. Musicians from, among others, the “Orchestre National de Belgique”, the “Symfonieorkest van Vlaanderen”, the “Opéra de Wallonie” and “Collegium Vocale Gent” came together to follow the less beaten track of the musical repertoire.
Originality and dynamism : their spear-heads. Originality because Odysseia combines piano, voice, string and wind instruments. Dynamism because the Ensemble constantly creates new combinations.
The programmes are carefully chosen to generate the dialogue between classical masterpieces and still unknown contemporary compositions.
Proud of its roots : the Odysseia Ensemble pays a very particular attention to Belgian music and can rely upon the young composer Frederik Neyrinck to provide several programmes with works especially composed for them. But other Belgian composers like Luc Brewaeys or Daan Janssens also have their places in their programmes.
Come and travel with the Odysseia Ensemble and discover its peregrinations, its odyssey through the huge repertoire, all along varied styles and different periods.
